As if being shortlisted in two categories of this year’s Women in Business Awards wasn’t enough to get excited about as the week comes to a close, we were thrilled to discover that our good news had reached the local press.  And I know it’s April Fools’ Day, but I promise this is legit!

And for those of you who may not be familiar with the categories for which we have been shortlisted, here’s a brief rundown.

In the first category, sponsored by The Federation of Small Businesses, recognition is given to small businesses with a big attitude to business.  This is a philosophy that we share and although we may not employ hundreds of staff, we still strive to offer the same high levels of efficiency, quality, customer satisfaction and professionalism.

Alongside this, we’ve been working hard to raise the company’s profile, both on-line and in the media and it is possibly due to the fact that two of our hats appeared on the BBC, most notably on EastEnders (Xmas Day 2010), that the company has been recognised by sponsors P-PR Media Solutions in the Awards’ PR Initiative category.  I also like to think that they enjoyed our little adventure last summer when some of our hats went AWOL.  Speaking of which, Archie's been in touch - and he's been all over the place.  More to follow soon .......

Although thrilled to have come this far in the process, I’m not going to let our recent successes get in the way of our main purpose in life.  So it’s still just a normal day in the office.  In fact I’m getting very excited about the upcoming launch of the new fairytale and nursery rhyme ranges.  All the hats have been designed and I’ve made up a hat in each of the colour combinations.  Just finished photographing them all and I have to say, I think they look rather cute.  Don't forget I really want to know which names you like best, so do let me know - click here to submit your suggestions.

So fingers crossed we make it to the final and I get a chance to dust off my best frock and go to the ball!  Obviously I’ll keep you posted.
