EDGA meet with the delegation of the Disabled Golfers Association of Japan

Mr. Kenji Mizuta, Medical Committee Advisor, Mr. Seijoe Satoh, President and Founder of Disabled Golfers Association of Japan, Secreatary Mrs. Haruko Matsuda, Pieter van Duijn, EDGA Secretary/treasurer, Mats Linde, Director of FIFH, Malmo, Sweden and Björn Hakansson, Representative for Sweden in EDGA.

 

During the French Disabled Open at Le National Golf Course near Paris, 28-29 August 2010, EDGA met with the delegation of the Disabled Golfers Association of Japan; a team of players participated in this Championship. DGA is heavily involved in the bid for the inclusion of Golf in the 2016 Paralympic Games, working hard also for the promotion of Golf for people with physical limitations in Asia. Mrs. Matsuda is the Secretary of the Advisory Committee for the bidbook to the International Paralympic Committee. Future possibilities of cooperation and exchange of experiences regarding medical issues and format(s) of play were among the topics of our meeting.

Mats and Björn are also the organizers of the Men's Team World Championship and the Swedish Invitational and the Malmö World Handigolf Conference, August 2011.
