Tochigi, 23rd-25th October - The 16th Japan Open Golf Championship was held at Higashinomiya Country Club. 79 players including 5 oversea’s players played the tournament.
Stefan Morkholt from Denmark won the tournament(75 77 total 152). Stefan, who won the Swedish Invitational this summer, played very well overcoming the difference of the grass and the course design between Europe and Japan. Many Japanese players were impressed with his great play.
The second place is Ryotaro Koike, who won 2008-2010 this championship, 3 strokes behind(73 82 total 155). The third is Shigeru Kobayashi(83 80 total 163).
Because of the big earth quake in March here and a strong Yen rate, it seems difficult for the players from overseas to come to Japan this year.We hope much more disabled golf players will come to Japan and join our tournament next year.
