|The key highlights from week commencing 31st December 2017 have been summarised below:
1. Following tyre and being out of traffic over 12 months, 90041 finally re-entered traffic this week on the morning of the 12/1/18 after extensive testing. The loco worked 4F45 from Crewe to Garston but returned DIT to Crewe on 4K64 dragged by 86614.
2 On the morning of the 8/1/18, 90013 dragged 90009 from Crown Point, which also had 37606 in the consist. The 90s went to the north London depot for tyre turning and returned two days later to Norwich.
3.90042 and 90049 could be found on hire to GBRF for most of the week for use on the sleepers. The loco's worked a variety of services including those mentioned as well as 1C11, 1M11 and 1S26.
4. There were a number of 90s in and out of traffic for all or part of the week, which included 90001, 90002, 90013, 90016, 90020, 90021, 90026, 90041, 90043 and 90044. The reasons for the stoppages included general maintenance, heavy overhauls, waiting test runs and other longer term issues.
5. Over on the East Coast, 90034 and 90029 continued to be hired by VTEC and worked a number of service trains for the TOC, which included trips to Leeds and Newark. Both DB90s were out on the same day during this week on a couple of days due to other fleet issues.
