Serif users

This group is for the discussion of Serif Software and the posting of images created or modified with Serif Software into discussion threads. 1. Please post your images at medium size (about 500 pixels wide) (more on how to do this below) 2. The 'subject line' should be short and to the point. The 'subject' is used by Serif members to pick through the threads they've commented on, and those that are new to them. A simple 'subject' will keep our thread list looking clean. 3. To add an image to the post, go to the photo's main page and select ALL SIZES. 4. Choose the medium version of the photo. 5. At the bottom of the page you will find the HTML code for the photo itself. Copy this entire section and paste it into your post. **************************************************************** We would encourage everyone to ... Enable viewing of 'All Sizes' of your photos. To fully appreciate your picture, viewers will often want to see more than the posted medium size picture. Do comment on the posts. Please do not post your images directly to the Gallery or Pool. If you feel that any posted image is exceptional in some way, then please add the word 'GALLERY' in capital letters to the thread, if 3 or more of these 'GALLERY' nominations are made, the image may then be added to the group pool or (Gallery) So!! Please post images into a thread and remember the pool is reserved as a gallery of the groups best work!! **************************************************************** A note about Adult Content ... More schools are encouraging the use of Serif software, particularly DrawPlus and as result this group has its fair share of younger members, consequently we are very aware of our responsibility to those youngsters and their parents, and therefore we discourage the posting of any images of an adult nature into the threads or the pool. We would also ask members to be aware that some of those youngsters might explore the Photo-streams of their fellow members. **************************************************************** Useful Links

End of An Era

Hilary Sunset posted a new topic:

Funny how things work out. CraftArtist survived the move to Affinity for quite a while and it was a slightly different set of circumstances that changed everything.

DaisyTrail is finished - given a couple more weeks or so before the website closes. Disaster for the DT team who, mostly, are now writing their CVs.

As to all the DT members: It reminds me of the final scene in Fiddler on the Roof where the villagers are all leaving their homes and dispersing all over the globe - some are going to Flickr, some to FB, some to Scrapbook Flair and some to Just Art. Now they are all settling into their new homes.

And the strangest result? The new Flickr group seems to be a roaring success, bucking the trend perhaps? Time will tell :)

I am not good at to many changes bit I might look at Hit Film as a change from MoviePlus but to be honest I do not do much film making these days.

Thanks for letting my picture into the gallery.
I hope it won't be the last one. This group is very quiet the last months and it is almost impossible to still get to the 3 votes.

this group is about Serif Users and there has been a lot of changes at Serif the last years, with the drop of the Plus family and the launch of Affinity. It has been a huge change, but almost no discussion about this in this group.

Andy, I know that you are a very fervent user of DrawPlus. I hope you will find your way with Affinity Designer. Or will you rather go for Adobe (kidding)?
I must say, I was considering this last after Serif dropped one by one the software i was using: ImpactPlus, MoviePlus... But Affinity is really good and I like a lot the compatibility between Affinity Designer and AffinityPhoto. You open an Affinity Project in one or the other without a need for conversion. You can even send your work from one to the other in one click in the menu. And it is a good price, compared to Adobe.
But it is a new learning.

I still have to solve the replacement for MoviePlus. I found HitFilm which looks very promising and goes far beyond what MoviePlus does in its last version. So perhaps I should thanks Serif in the end to force me to look at alternatives.

I think Dominique's picture is lovely and there is a good description of how the work has been done. With nothing new in the gallery it's going to be really hard to get more than two votes.

You do need 3 but unless anyone drops in you only have 2 at the moment. Maybe we have to change that as there is so little traffic on the site. Maybe we should consider a nomination and one vote to second it. We can always change back if we get more posts.

In our hey day it used to be 5 votes

Three, but I can't count, so I think you have three GALLERY calls now.

Go for it!
