Pitching a story to New Internationalist

We welcome pitches for articles: our web exclusives range from features on under-covered topics around the world, important social movements and struggles in the fight for global justice, to radical opinion pieces with an international – or internationalist – perspective, making interesting and original arguments you wouldn’t see elsewhere. We also welcome pitches for short online videos or multimedia projects.

The topics we cover span social justice, global inequality, the environment, feminism and liberatory struggles, tech politics and more.

Generally we publish articles of between 800-1200 words in length, for which we pay £150. We offer more for investigative reports and in-depth features.

To improve the chances of your pitch being successful, we recommend you familiarize yourself with our site, writing style and the sort of content we regularly cover.

To pitch, please fill out the pitch form below:

Do you have a catchy title? What is it? Please give it to us in 40 characters maximum, including spaces.
Please provide an eye-grabbing teaser/standfirst, 80 characters maximum, including spaces.
Please outline your pitch in no more than 250 words.
What kind of article is this?
What will your primary and secondary source material be? Who will you speak to? What will you cite?
When can you send your draft?
If we publish your story, how will you promote it?
