Due to health and safety concerns caused by heavy snow, it is sometimes necessary to close the college.

If Moat Community College has to close due to adverse weather conditions there are three ways that we will let you and parents know about any possible closure.

1. A message will be broadcast on BBC Radio Leicester (104.9FM) from 7.30am onwards. Please tune into the radio to hear whether the college is closed or not.

2. A message about a college closure will also be available on the BBC website (www.bbc.co.uk/leicester).

3. We will also post a message on the college website (www.moat.leicester.sch.uk).

If the college has to close during the school day students will be told that if, for any reason, they are unable to go home or to a family member’s home they are able to stay in college until the normal leaving time. Staff that live locally and are able to support the supervision of any such students will be greatly appreciated.

IF YOU DO NOT HEAR OR READ AN ANNOUNCEMENT, THE COLLEGE WILL DEFINITELY BE OPEN AS USUAL.
