News in Brief: Open garden
AN open garden event will take place at Woodbine House, located at 22 South View in Hunwick, on Monday, May 28, from 1pm to 5pm. The garden is a quarter of an acre and features a vegetable garden, greenhouse, lawned area with herbaceous planting, small pond and bee hive. The event is part of the National Garden Scheme, which raised more than £3m for charity last year. Admission is £3.50 and free for children. Homemade teas will be served and plants will be available to buy. Parts of the garden are accessible to wheelchairs.
